Daniel Bard Foundation Bleed Control Kit (Prometheus)

During an emergency situation in which a patient is experiencing catastrophic blood loss, response times and speed of treatment are essential to increase the chances of saving the patient's life. The new Prometheus Bleed Control Kit is designed for the lay person, bystander or trained medic to be able to help control and stop severe bleeding until further help arrives.

Prometheus is the leading medical manufacturer of bleed control equipment, supplying kits into every UK Ambulance Service as well as other parts of the world. Prometheus has teamed up with The Daniel Bard Foundation to highlight the importance of publicly accessible bleed kits and their role in the outcome of the patient being treated in an emergency.

The Daniel Bard Foundation was established in memory of Daniel Bard who was just 26 years old when he was fatally stabbed in Birmingham in July 2017. No bleed control kit or trauma kit was available at the scene but Daniel's family believe that, had there been a publicly accessible bleed control pack available, Daniel's may have survived.

This pack is ideally suited for our Emergency Bleed Control Cabinets and Joint Defibrillator and Bleed Control Cabinets. The pack is lightweight which allows it to be attached to personnel, hung up, or kept within vehicles, with high visibility red colouring, allowing for rapid identification. It includes basic instructions for the lay person to have a straightforward understanding of the equipment included, and where \ how to apply.
