Why do you need to replace defibrillator pads and batteries? 

Defibrillator pads are made using an adhesive gel which can dry out over time. As a result, pads can expire or are no longer effective if they've been used, have reached their expiry date or have been opened. 

Batteries can deplete over time. Ensuring you replace expired or depleted defibrillator batteries ensures your defibrillator has the power needed to complete self-tests or deliver a shock in an emergency.
