Why is it important to replace defibrillator pads?

Defibrillator pads are single use and contain a conductive adhesive gel that can dry out over time and become ineffective. Expired, opened, damaged or used pads may not stick to the patient properly and can affect the delivery of the shock, potentially making it ineffective. 

Always replace the pads after use, before their expiry date or if the pads have been opened or damaged to ensure your defibrillator is always ready for an emergency.
