Defib4Life becomes an official HeartHero Elliot Supplier: Why we’re excited about this device

At Defib4Life, our mission is to provide lifesaving equipment to as many people as possible and raise awareness of just how important it is to be able to respond quickly and effectively when sudden cardiac arrest strikes.

We’re delighted to announce that Defib4Life is now an official supplier of the HeartHero Elliot Fully Automatic Defibrillator, the newest portable defibrillator on the market.

We announced the arrival of the device earlier in the year and we have now been made an official supplier of this innovative AED. Public access defibrillators and placing defibrillators in a range of workplaces and educational settings is still incredibly important but, the HeartHero Elliot provides a defibrillator that can travel with you, ensuring lifesaving equipment is available in even the most remote settings.

Widening defibrillator access

Traditionally, AEDs remain in fixed locations such as:

  • Workplaces
  • Schools
  • Sports facilities
  • Community centres
  • Public buildings

While ensuring as many of these locations have a visible and accessible defibrillator available in the event of an emergency to improve survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest, there are other situations in which people are beyond the reach of a public access defibrillator and require a different solution.

If you’re travelling, hiking, working remotely or caring for a loved one with a heart condition, the nearest AED could be too far away to reach in time. This is where portable defibrillators such as the HeartHero are providing new opportunities for protection and preparedness.

Why portable AEDs are the perfect solution

The HeartHero Elliot has been designed with portability in mind. This compact design means it can be carried around so it can be used in situations where fixed public access defibrillators can’t be reached, making it the perfect solution for:

Families with vulnerable relatives

  • Sports clubs
  • Outdoor enthusiasts
  • Caravan and motorhome drivers
  • Delivery drivers
  • Remote workers
  • Community first responders
  • Businesses operating vehicles

As awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and where it can strike grows, more people are recognising the value of having immediate access to life saving equipment, no matter where they are.

Why are we proud to be an official HeartHero supplier?

As a specialist defibrillator supplier, we carefully evaluate every product we offer to our customers. It’s important to us to supply our customers with the defibrillators that will suit their needs, and which are reliable and intuitive to use.

Here’s just a few of the HeartHero’s features that stood out to us:

Completely portable

This device allows you to take it with you wherever you go. While many AEDs may be considered portable, they’re too bulky to slip into your backpack on a walk or put into the glove compartment of your car when you go on holiday.

Instead of relying on fixed public access defibrillators, this device can be carried with you when you’re travelling or spending time in remote locations so you have peace of mind that you or your loved ones are protected wherever you go.

Simple to use

Like any modern AED, the HeartHero Elliot is designed for use by both trained and untrained responders with clear voice prompts and visual guidance to help users through the rescue process. This reduces hesitation and helps rescuers feel confident, even during a stressful situation.

Fully automatic operation

The HeartHero is an automatic defibrillator which means it analyses the patient’s heart rhythm, decides whether a shock is required and delivers the shock without the user having to do anything. This removes an additional step during what can be an extremely stressful emergency.

Expands access to defibrillation

Most importantly, we believe the HeartHero Elliot helps to expand access to defibrillation in situations where an AED may otherwise not be available.

Will portable defibrillators replace those in fixed locations?

No, portable defibrillators are not designed to replace public access defibrillators or those in fixed locations such as workplaces, schools, sports clubs or community spaces. These defibrillators will always remain a vital part of the UK’s emergency response network.

The HeartHero Elliot offers the perfect solution for individuals and organisations who want to stay prepared for an emergency, even in remote locations.

We’re extremely proud to add this AED to our range and look forward to helping even more people gain access to lifesaving equipment.
