Defib4Life was delighted to be involved in the EPC-UK Charity Golf Day this year which raised a whopping total of £6,500. These funds will be used to ensure defibrillators are installed in schools and communities and make life-saving equipment accessible to as many people as possible.
For the fourth consecutive year, we sponsored a hole at the event. Our Managing Director, Michelle Waters, and our Sales & Web Business Development Manager, Claire McDowell, also attended to show their support and present a defibrillator to a deserving organisation.
When new devices are donated through the funds raised, Defib4Life will be providing the defibrillators. We’re so proud to support a good cause and to follow our mission of making life-saving equipment and knowledge accessible to as many people in our local communities as possible.

We’ve sponsored this event for the last four years because we believe everyone should have access to a defibrillator when needed.
Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) is an often-fatal condition which requires immediate CPR and defibrillation. Around 80,000 people are affected every year in the UK. Of these, the emergency services carry out resuscitation on around 30,000 patients but less than 10% survive.
Providing lifesaving CPR and defibrillation is critical in the first few minutes after a cardiac arrest occurs but, often, passersby or family members do not know where their nearest defibrillator is or how to use one.
That’s why Defib4Life fully supports the EPC-UK Golf Day and its mission to ensure equipment and training is provided. We’d like to thank everyone who took part in the event and the organisers for hosting the event this year and making it possible.
EPC-UK will use the funds raised at the event to purchase defibrillators for the organisations that need them. This might be for local schools, sports clubs, community facilities and more. The aim is to ensure defibrillators are accessible in as many locations as possible to help more people survive sudden cardiac arrest when it occurs at home, at school or when out and about in the community.

This year, Michelle attended the event to present a defibrillator to a nominated organisation who will be installing the device at their location to make it available in an emergency.
“The EPC-UK Golf Day is a great way to raise money for such an important cause. I started Defib4Life because I wanted to share my knowledge of what you should do when someone suffers a cardiac arrest and to make sure the right equipment is available. That mission continues and I was so pleased when Defib4Life was asked to provide and present a defibrillator on the night. We’re also delighted to be able to supply the donated defibrillators to deserving organisations. Thanks again for having us along to the event, we’re looking forward to many more years of the golf days and supporting our local communities,” Michelle Waters, Managing Director at Defib4Life.
Alongside making AEDs available in every community, knowing what to do with one and what to do when someone suffers a cardiac arrest is also vital. Michelle has also agreed to provide training to help recipients feel more confident responding to a cardiac arrest. Although you do not need previous training to use an AED, practical guidance can help people feel better prepared to act. AEDs provide clear instructions and will only advise or deliver a shock if one is needed.
Do you know a deserving school, community, sports club or local facility that needs a defibrillator? You can nominate an organisation here, or by contacting Julie.wooton@epc-groupe.co.uk. Explain where the organisation is based, who it supports and why it would benefit from a device.
Help this year’s fundraising make a lasting difference by putting forward an organisation for consideration.
